| Changes and improvements on IT and computer networking would prove to be the most inevitable one. Cisco has been a name that has been trusted for a very long time in this field due to the fact that they have been improving their products and services at a very constant basis. The CCNA Course is no exemption. In order to provide the most recent knowledge and information, there have been various changes applied towards the CCNA Course. Such improvements were relative to the hands-on lab exercises and the syllabus for the course. Students and candidates have the most benefits out of these improvements as their skills and knowledge would have better assessment throughout the course of specified training. Such improvements do not directly apply for the other associated levels in terms of the certification objectives and the process of learning. The main objective manages to stay the same and that is to achieve success despite the fast innovations of Cisco technology. The improvement that is being stated here is the announcement and launching of the INTRO course and two other options prior to a CCNA certification. This was devised to allow computer networking candidates enhance their skills and set it on efficient rate in their actual working environment. Having been issued with a CCNA certification would verify that a candidate is equipped and has familiarized well with the fundamentals of networking. Installation, configuration and operation on WAN and LAN networks. It is also a proof that they can provide a dial access skills over a network that runs on about a hundred nodes. There are several protocols they would also have to work on including the IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet and Access Lists. The lines of Cisco Certifications is recognized anywhere in the world which makes it a truly valuable asset for all network professionals as well as for companies they are serving. A candidate has a choice to work on their skills according to the levels they have already accomplished. Once their CCNA certification is nearing its expiration date, which is after three years, they can very well reapply for the same level or simply move on to the next which meant the Professional and Expert levels. There are other specialized CCNA Courses they can choose from as well including the CCNA security, CCNA Voice, CCNA Wireless or the CCNA Routing & Switching. |

Cisco courses and exams sheets
The CCNA Courses would allow a candidate to have a better perspective of Bridging and Switching which would impact greatly in terms of decision-making in line with the design, creation and maintenance of large networks. It is important to have the ability to differentiate collisions and broadcasting domains as well as utilize various devices.
Collisions are never a good thing. As much as possible, this factor should be avoided at all cost or through increasing the number of broadcast domains or what is more commonly known as “microsegmentation”. In order to prevent collisions within the system, hubs have been terminated since they are very much the root cause of great collisions. It is actually more practical and efficient to utilize a 10mbps Switch than to use a 100mbps Hub.
A Collision Domain means that a half-duplex Ethernet system is found within a single collision characterized by two or more devices transmitting all at the same time. When this happens, the colliding devices should back off and try further for access over the wire via device known as Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection (CSMS/CD). An increase in load would mean degradation of performance. In order to prevent this scenario, one must carefully design the network with bridges and switches to divide the network into several collision domains, distributing the load and therefore lessening collisions.
If truth be told, collisions are normal within the Ethernet operation. Once the rate of collisions increase it would affect the decrease of useful bandwidth. The common effect for users are longer pauses for responses and frequent re-tries for applications.
Once the stations simultaneously transmit in Ethernet it can affect collision and damages to the frames of both stations. For Hubs and repeaters, this cycle would increase damage to the frames while with LAN switches, routers or bridges would simply disregard such.
In shorter explanation, collisions consume bandwidth. While the number of users are lessened in a specific collision domain, the bandwidth is increased. In order to have a larger bandwidth, the traffic should be regulated at a local which would result a more efficient response for users. This would beat off the hassles that may occur if the entire users would be lined up in a single but large segment.
Understanding switched LAN networks is vital among CCNA courses. But this is only the beginning. A candidate is expected to learn VLANs, BPDUs, loops, bridge, switch operations and Spanning-Tree Protocol in the process.
